Important Reminders
H5P does not distinguish between the headings level 3 that are event titles and the headings level 3 that are timeline markers. Users of screen reading software may have difficulty distinguishing between the event title that is part of the content and the event title that is a timeline marker. Provide instructions for users of screen reading software that include instructions for navigating the activity by headings.
The activity may be usable if an alternative version of the activity is provided:
- With good color contrast
- That includes keyboard accessible timeline controls
- That supports magnification up to 400% without requiring horizontal scrolling to view content and interact with content.
Visible Indication of Focus
Links in activity content have a visible indication of focus. The activity controls do not have a visible indication of focus because the activity controls do not receive keyboard focus.
Color Contrast
The visible indication of focus does not have good contrast. Links and the visible indication of focus on links do not have good color contrast. All content on the timeline does not have good color contrast.
Keyboard Usability
The activity is not usable with the keyboard. When navigating with the keyboard:
- Moving to a link in the activity content does not move the timeline to the corresponding marker
- Activity content does not always line up on the screen, making it difficult to read the content
- The timeline controls, Return to Title, Expand Timeline, and Contract Timeline are not keyboard accessible.
No Keyboard Traps
There are no keyboard traps.
Magnification
Content magnifies up to 200% using browser settings without loss of content or functionality. Content is obscured when magnified up to 400%.
An alternative version of the content should be included that supports magnification up to 400% without requiring horizontal scrolling to view content and interact with content.
Usability with Screen Reading Software
The activity is usable with screen reading software. Content authors should include instructions for navigating the activity by headings:
- Dates are headings level 2
- Event titles associated with dates are headings level 3
- duplicate headings level 3 event titles at the end of the activity content are timeline markers.
