Important Reminders
Use workarounds and best practices for content authoring, including:
- Begin the content inside accordion items with properly structured headings (H5P headings for Panel Titles do not work);
- Include a link with descriptive text or other focusable element inside accordion items to support scrolling using the keyboard.
Visible Indication of Focus
The accordion buttons have a visible indication of focus.
Color Contrast
The visible indication of focus has good contrast. The visible indication of focus is a thin black line. Users who require a visible indication of focus with more contrast may use assistive technology.
Keyboard Usability
The activity is usable with the keyboard. To use the activity with the keyboard, users must navigate between items using the Up and Down arrows. Unless there is a link or other keyboard focusable element in the expanded content, users are not able to scroll through the expanded content using the keyboard.
No Keyboard Traps
There are no keyboard traps.
Magnification
The activity supports both magnification up to 200% and reflow of content with magnification up to 400% without a loss of content or functionality and without requiring horizontal scrolling.
Usability with Screen Reading Software
The activity is usable with screen reading software. For a more consistent reading order, users of screen reading software should navigate between items using the Up and Down arrows.
