This timeline was designed as an optional ungraded learning tool for American Government 3e, OpenStax, (2021), chapter 15 (Bureaucracy).  It helps students explore a current real-world example (Elon Musk’s federal appointment under President Trump) and connect it to the structure, creation, and oversight of bureaucratic institutions.
